3Y0K Bouvet Island expedition
In November 2025, we will be manufacturing radials for two verticals for the 160 m band, HARPIN coils for these verticals, and two more sets of wire dipoles for the 14, 18, 21, and 24 MHz bands from CU-HS high-strength wire.
During August 2025, I made wire dipoles and wire verticals for this expedition. The antennas will be mounted on fiberglass telescopes.

It was necessary to design a durable but lightweight center section of the dipole with a coaxial cable connection with a PL-UHF connector so that it would put as little strain as possible on the end of the fiberglass telescopes. Everything had to be able to withstand the strong winds that prevail on the island, which are commonly around 80-100 km/h (e.g., today's forecast is 77-82 km/h).
