Variant

Wired antenna dipole 2x13,75 m for bands 3,5-28 MHz, double line feed, basic version is 12,2 m double line 450 Ohm

Detailed information

Product detailed description

ZS6BKW dipole powered by 450 ohm double line.

Mounting for hanging by the center piece or by the ends of the arms.
not recommended for CU-PE version

The ZS6BKW antenna, when hung level at 10m, has very good radiation patterns compared to a half-wave dipole for a particular band.
On the 3.5 and 7 MHz bands it radiates similarly to a half-wave dipole.
On the upper bands from 14 MHz upwards it is directional.
The 14 MHz band is sharply directional in two lobes and has a gain of about 3 dB over a half-wave dipole at the same height.
The 21 MHz band has 4 radiating lobes, the gain in a lobe is the same as a half-wave dipole at the same height.
The 28 MHz band has 4 main lobes, there are significant minima outside the lobes, the gain in the main lobes is 3dB compared to a half-wave dipole at the same height.
In a small space it can also be compromised by mounting as a kinked dipole at 10m above the ground, the horizontal section is 2x7m long, the ends of the radiator then hang vertically down.
On the 3.5 and 7 MHz bands the radiation pattern does not change.
The 14 MHz band radiates similarly to a 1/4 vertical, compared to a dipole it has about 6db less gain than a half wave dipole at the same height.
Better radiation parameters at 14 MHz are obtained by bending 2x10m horizontally and the radiator ends vertically.
The 21 MHz band has a similar radiation pattern to a half-wave dipole at the same height, the gain is 2.5 dB less.
The 28 MHz band has 4 radiation lobes, the gain in a lobe is about 1.5 dB less than a half-wave dipole at the same height.

Technical data:
- 3,5-28 MHz bands
- arm length 2x13,75 m
- tuning by antenna tuner
- antenna cable according to variant - CU-PVC, CU-PE, CU-HD
- 450 Ohm double line
- double line length 12,2 m
- if a coaxial cable will be connected between the tuner and the double line, it is recommended to connect a 1:1 balun between the double line and the coax
- weight 1.1 kg (with CU-PVC cable)
- attachment for hanging

Can be manufactured with any length of twin line on request.
Increase the length of the twin line - put the desired amount of increase meters of the 450 Ohm twin line in the cart.

Example of connecting a 450 Ohm transmitting double line to a MINI LL balun - transition between double line and coaxial cable.
The balun is not included in the antenna, it is ordered separately.
